If you want sushi in the Southtown this is the place to go. The fireball appetizer is highly recommended. The sushi, gyoza and fried rice are top dishes if you don't want hibachi. The staff are fantastic and the restaurant is always busy for a reason!

This is our go to celebratory place Dao makes every occasion a special occasion.Amazing food and atmosphere and impeccable service from their friendly staff make this place truly special. This is based on their hibachi dinners. Top quality, large portions, reasonable prices and highly skilled chefs complete the package. All hibachi dinners come with Miso soup, salad, shrimp appetizer, vegetables, rice AND noodles. Simply put: Dao does it right. Pro tip: split the Love for 2 dinner with someone and get chicken and ice cream dessert along with filet mignon and lobster for the same price per person as lobster dinner with filet mignon. There's a reason why Josh and the boys are here so often.

Just a very solid culinary experience every time we visit. We always eat in the restaurant and have eaten around the menu and have never been disappointed. The portions are generous and flavorful. There's a wide selection of options for just about anyone. The quality is very consistent. The only hiccup seems to occasionally to be the service. Which appears to be influenced when they're very busy mostly. It's never bad. But it can be just enough, which is why there's a missing star. But all in all it's definitely on our regular list of favorite places to go.

Dao is great for hibachi in Buffalo! It's my go to place for a hibachi dinner. They serve you so much food, you will take leftovers home for sure. With a hibachi dinner you get miso soup, salad, rice AND noodle, vegetables and a choice of meat. Usually I order the chicken. Everything is always delicious. The cooks at the hibachi grill are entertaining and serve your food quickly. The prices are also great for all of the food you get. It's always a great time!

Always a great meal! I've been here multiple times to celebrate events at the hibachi grill which is always fun and delicious! This was the first lunch I had in the front area. We enjoyed three specialty rolls which were each delicious. Fantastic service. Clean restaurant. We also enjoyed the Tokyo downtown noodles which were unique and delicious. Highly recommend!

Had a very nice experience sitting at the sushi bar tonight with my husband. Everyone was super attentive to us and everything was served very quickly. This was only my second time eating in but everything was fresh and delicious. The wasabi shumai was very spicy but excellent. We really enjoyed the fried ice cream as well! Skip the wait and sit at the sushi bar next time!

Price is standard, place is beautiful, waitstaff is attentive. Only downside that its too popular! When we went we had to wait a half hour outside until they finally got around to seating us. (We don't mind, we're patient people. Maybe expand a waiting area or something though?) Got my usual Hibachi NY steak dinner and it tasted amazing. Cooked perfectly and I had a great time with friends. I don't know what the wait looks like for lunch, but that was the only small downside to our visit. Would definitely be back again!

My first time here and let me tell you - I will be back!! Nothing like a good lunch special. Got the 3 roll sushi lunch special. It was fresh and delicious. The lunch hibachi was HUGE and could feed you for days!
